Welcome to the Minnesota Society of Radiologic Technologists website! The History of the MSRT began with its founding on March 8, 1938. The society was recognized by our parent society, the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, on December 20, 1938. The MSRT has a proud history of representing the needs of professional, registered imaging science technologists in the State of Minnesota and is committed to preserving the profession for the benefit of every patient the membership has the privilege to serve.
Currently the Organization of the MSRT is divided into four representative geographical areas, the Northern, Central, Metro and Southern Regions. These regions provide assistance and educational opportunities to members of a specific region. The organization is governed by an Executive Board comprised of the Executive Committee whose composition is the President, Immediate Past-President and Chairman of the Board. Additional Executive Board members include the President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, each Region Representative and the current MARS President. Additional operating assistance is provided by Standing Committees and a Resource Committee, composed of representatives from each imaging modality.
The Purpose of the MSRT is to advance the professions of radiation and imaging specialties, to assist in establishing and maintaining high standards of education and training, to elevate the quality of patient care and to improve the welfare and socioeconomics of radiologic technologists.
