Sandra Sellner-Wee, instructor of radiography at Riverland Community College gives her students the benefit of the creative variety of teaching methods she uses to teach theory and practice. Connecting with students in innovative ways to enhance learning is a strength she wields with ease, employing a range of methods and tools in her varied and developing approaches to teaching. As a student notes, “She always puts her students first and recognizes the importance of proper training and knowledge to ready us for the workforce.” After graduating with an associate’s degree in radiography from the Mayo School of Health-Related Science and Rochester Community College, Sellner-Wee earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of St. Francis. She is board certified in radiography and mammography, and has worked in several specialty radiography fields for over 26 years.

This week is "National Volunteer Week."  It is a time to celebrate people doing extraordinary things through service. Established in 1974, National Volunteer Week focuses national attention on the impact and power of volunteerism and service as an integral aspect of our civic leadership. Our state society would not be in existence if it wasn't for all the fabulous people that have stepped up to help keep things running smoothly.

On Monday, March 17 we are asking all members to contact congress to let them know that R.T.s will be visiting them on Capitol Hill and that the issues they will discuss are important to you and the profession.
Rep Collin Peterson and Rep Tim Walz have already agreed to co-sponsor the CARE Bill and Rep Richard Nolan has agreed to be a co-sponsor of the MARCA Bill!
The ASRT Grass-roots Advocacy Action Center makes it easy to send a message to your congressional representatives. A special message has already been created for you. All you need to do is send it!

The board is looking for a volunteer that would seek, encourage, and post pertinent information to publish on the MSRT website, social media and other electronic communication in accordance with copyright laws.

This position was formerly the High Tension News Editor, and was recently vacated.  The By-Laws committee is working on revamping the position description, and it is an area that we can see growth in the future with electronic media taking over communication methods.  If interested, please fill out the attached form and email it to Jessica Nachreiner.
